How infrared sauna works?

In an infrared sauna, the user sits on a massage table in a small heated room, similar to a traditional sauna. But what’s the difference between a classic sauna and an infrared one? Ok, so let’s talk technical for a minute. Through an invisible band of light, objects in the room are warmed without actually warming the surrounding air. Infrared rays warm up in the air until they hit an object. When these rays meet an object (you!), they penetrate and heat the object without heating the air on their path.

The best way to describe this occurrence is by imagining this scenario. Imagine you are wrapped up in a fluffy jacket on a brisk winter day. The outside air is cool, but when you stand directly beneath the light of the sun, you feel the warmth. This is how an infrared sauna works, by warming your body without warming the surrounding air.

An infrared sauna, however, only needs to heat to between 100 – 140 degrees, providing a much more enjoyable and comfortable sauna experience. And, you will probably sweat more in an infrared sauna session than you would in a traditional sauna.
